My photo
Hi there! As you can see, my name is Chris, I'm at university and I'm currently 21 years old, but there's more to know than my name and age. So what am I doing then? Well I'm studying Game Art at DMU. I am aiming to be one of the top proffesional vehicle artists in the industry. In the meantime, check out this Blog of mine and when your finished, take a look at my website!

Dvelopment of Uncharted 1,2 and 3!

Very insightful look into how they created the three games, along with the planning and story of particular scenes from each game such as the train wreck inU2 and plane crash in U3. Turns out they thought these were awesome ideas and then merged the story to fit with the idea.

New Head Sculpt

Big improvement on the previous model. I've managed to give it a lot more life this time and I have also improved on the lips and muscle structures around the mouth.

Biggest problem with this one was the ear as it wasn't modelled particularly well so it was a bit messed up in Zbrush. I'm going to start improving my understanding of facial expressions as well.

Ive been able to get in contact with 3D Artist magazine about featuring DMU Game Art in a future publication! They seem quite interested already!

New Term!

Finally I'm back at Uni!!  Felt like an entire life time over the summer holidays despite getting all that work experience.

Starting the second year is a bit daunting for me but is also quite exciting with the development of my own skills along with the work that will be set.  I think the main area I'm going to want to improve will be time management, as this is something I know i can still improve on. Although 3D is still my stronger side, my aim is to improve my art substantially over the coming year and to create more of an artistic style.

I'm also quite looking forward to working with game engines in the coming months which should be interesting to say the least!

Very Interesting Article

I didnt realise Microsoft demanded so much equality between cross platform games. Sure this Sony exec is bound to dislike this MS policy... But seriously, isnt MS taking this a bit too far?

Quote 'Should content not be shipped simultaneously with competing platforms in all regions where the content is available, or should the content and features available on the Xbox 360 not be in parity with versions on competing platforms, then Microsoft reserves the right to not allow that content to be published for Xbox 360 or released on Xbox Live marketplace.'

I wonder how Sony was able to get all those recent EA games "Dead Space 2, Battlefield 3 etc"to have extra content, and did EA just refuse to listen to Microsofts policy? Would be very interesting to find out about all this. I can understand EA's stance with Battlefield 3 as Microsoft is very much backing COD, and also with its much higher sales on the Xbox.

But then again, would MS seriously back this policy up, if lets to say, a publisher released a AAA game that was far superior on another platform and refused to have it equal on all, would MS honestly refuse this game to be published on the Xbox?
