Well this is the first post of my blog to be, so don’t expect any heroics blog wise!
Anyway, I might as well introduce myself. For starters, my name is Chris Blankley and yes, I’m currently studying Game Art at DMU. You may also be wondering why my blog is called The Mesh Miester (pretty bold claim I know). Well the reason for this, is that 3D modelling, and 3D in general is my strongest skill and secondly, why the hell not?
Currently I have 2 two years experience 3D wise, resulting in hundreds of rather useless models and the occasional Turbosmooth! Despite this, my art skills are the key area that I will be improving for my first year of study, as this is, to me, the most essential skill. Also, I would like to say that personally, my most interested side of art is human anatomy followed a close second by drawing in general.
During the last couple of years, I have also become a rather casual gamer, resulting in a slightly dusty console. Despite this, I still have a few lasting games that are played, including the best game series this generation, which of course, is the Uncharted series (you know I’m right). For me however, gaming has become not as immersive as it used to be when I was younger, mainly down to the fact that I cant help but see a game without thinking all technical about how it was made and admiring the art of a texture etc etc.
On that note, that’s it for this post! It’s a short post I know, but il make sure to write/drag on about something a lot more next time!
